Which is pretty funny considering I just wrote a circle of my inferno about this… BUT HERE IT GOES ANYWAYS. Once Upon A Time is a perfect show. Curiously, I watched the clips of it before it aired, and I was so intrigued by it that I had to watch at least the pilot.
It’s a perfect mixture of fairy tales and real life situations. Like. I don’t even know how to describe it. There’s no character I hate because they all have incredible backstories. WHO THINKS OF THIS STUFF? Not to mention, they’re mixing Disney and old school fairy tales. For instance, the dog’s name is Pongo. As in 101 Dalmatians. Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket is hands down my favorite character so far. His backstory was tragic in a refreshing way, and it was very interesting to see how he plays into things back in the fairy tale world. It’s all coming together, slowly but surely. It’s so interesting and I love every single second of this show. God damn. I wish it was next Sunday.
“There is a kind of crying I hope you have not experienced, and it is not just crying about something terrible that has happened, but a crying for all of the terrible things that have happened, not just to you but to everyone you know and to everyone you don’t know and even the people you don’t want to know, a crying that cannot be diluted by a brave deed or a kind word, but only by someone holding you as your shoulders shake and your tears run down your face.”—Lemony Snicket (via thechocolatebrigade)
”I think you could fall in love with anyone if you saw the parts of them that no one else gets to see. Like if you followed them around invisibly for a day and you saw them crying in their bed at night or singing to themselves as they make a sandwich or even just walking along the street and even if they were really weird and had no friends at school, I think after seeing them at their most vulnerable you wouldn’t be able to help falling in love with them.”
The list goes on. I love this day for all the right reasons. Sure the food is good, but the idea of bringing everyone you love in the same household for the day is so much more powerful. I love my family. I love this feeling.
